Pokchat Worasub (b. 1986, lives and works in Bangkok, Thailand)
Pokchat Worasub is a photographer whose interests lie in the human form and body language, which she refers to as ‘natural choreography created by emotions’. Her photography is a reflection of human desire. It is about the connection and relationship between models and their bodies, the photographer and models, and the image and viewers. She tends to juxtapose her subjects against unfamiliar environments to challenge viewer’s perceptions on the human body.
Since graduating with a Master of Visual Arts from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in 2014, Worasub has been rapidly making a name for herself with many exhibitions nationally, showing her unique photographic style, including This is not cute!, Masionclose BKK, Bangkok (2018), The State of Innocence, a dual exhibition, where she
joined with Sophirat Muangkum at Rebel Artspace, Bangkok (2017), Tetragon, Bridge Gallery, Bangkok (2014), Thaiyai, Nan Riverside Gallery, Nan, Thailand (2013), and she participated in the public art event, Croco Head, at Huatakae Market, Bangkok (2014). She is also a guest instructor at various universities in Thailand.
